Fay blinked fuzzily. It was dark. She was floating. Nothing. Cold.
Then... A voice. Warm.
She sat up painfully. The guards were gone and she was still in the corner. Fey rose, dust falling from her clothes. They'd pushed her away, shoved her gainst the wall, searched the room and left.
She sighed, starting to feel better.
Master. Master Arsen. He needed help. So did the other wolf.
She hastily went to the wall, pulling the pile away before running underground through the dark tunnels.

It had taken Gwen a couple of hours to get out of the castle after the fight, for the guards had been tightened. And anyone who she tried to glean information out of about either Arisen or the treaty seemed to clam up.
In the end she headed back to the jeep where she had left Reg. She could see Reg asleep in the passenger's seat. As she approached she heard the last remnants of Reg's dream. Gwen could hear Reg saying in her dream "Wait, don't leave me! Who are you? And who am I?" Reg was in a forest, two boys running from her, they resembled her, one a little older, the other the same age.
Then Reg jumped awake as Gwen approached the car. She stared up at her with her blue and gold eyes from under her silver hair. "Sorry,I must of dozed off," said Reg.
"It's fine,what life was the dream about?"Asked Gwen.
I don't know, I think my first life but that the one life I have no recollection of."Answered Reg looking on the verge of crying.
"It's okay, I got us a room at a local B&B. They only had one room left so we'll have to share. And the policy is one occupant per room, so you'll have to transform." Said Gwen
" I can't be trusted when changed, I'll attack everything that moves."
" Not if I control you. Remember when I met you."Gwen smiles as she thinks about it. She been bored and had joined another group of vampires out on a hunt. They had come upon Reg and thought easy prey. Reg had other ideas, she transformed into a silver wolf, not the largest put big enough to defend herself. The problem was she was sporadic. Gwen could read into her mind, it was like being in a horrible loud concert. Everyone was talking, memories, and everything was flashing at once. Gwen noticed they all resembled each other, she had then spotted Reg and mentally grabbed her gaining control over her. Gwen had then told the other vampires to leave. Reg had changed back to human-form. She explained to Gwen all those people were her from previous lives, and that all their personalities came forward when she changed. Making it hard to control herself, and causing her to burn out quick. Gwen knew then and there she could help Reg, and they had worked out a deal.
That was 6 mths ago. Gwen was still learning about Reg, and what together they could get up to.
" Alright, Gwen I'll change but I'll need to sleep when we get to the room. It's that time of the month and I've had trouble all evening controlling myself. Your plans will have to wait."
"Fine, I probably need to find a snack and get some rest too."
Reg changed, and Gwen focused on her keeping her under control. As an added security she clipped a leash on. They then booked into the B&B.
Reg changed back, exhausted and pale. Gwen said she be back later with food.

"Master....?" Fey whispered, wandering through the halls. She paused to sniff the air, "Master Arsen...?"
He was there... somwhere. She followed the scent of the other--It was fresher than Master's and more easily to follow.

Justin turned toward the hidden door as the sound of footsteps on the other side drew his attention. The scent of Fey filled his nostrils as the door opened and the stale air of the room was refreshed with her sweet scent.
He looked to where Arsen sat, blood dripping from his wounds into a pool on the carpet. This was not his area of expertise, this was a job much more suited to someone like Fey, someone who might know the boundaries they have with this person, not someone who was creating new ones with a stranger. It was awkward, this situation, He could understand the pain Arsen was feeling, but he wasn't sure how it should be dealt with. He knew how he might deal with it, but that was probably not the way is should be dealt with.
He was at a loss.
He cast a hopeful look towards Fey as her head poked around the wall hanging.
She could be Arsen savior tonight.

"Master!" Fey was automatically at Arsen's side, helping him stand.
"Don't ask any questions, Feyvernt," he muttered, "Just clean up."
She nodded, helping to the bathroom. Arsen glanced at Justin, "You can help too. Though, I don't think we've all been formally introduced."
"The more hands the better," Fey muttered quietly, nearly stumbling under Arsen's weight.

Justin brushed Fey out of the way as he easily lifted Arsen and carried him to the bathing chamber. He fought the urge to drop the vampire into the porcelain tub and instead lowered him gently, mindful of the pain he could cause.
Part of him wanted to sympathize with the emotionally pained undead, and the other part of him wanted to ream the guy out for being so pitiful. The latter part won out.
"Look, Arsen, you need to get it together. This is fucking ridiculous, your girl moves on, obviously not on her own choice, sure, but get a fucking grip. Christ, if this is how you react to emotional turmoil, you'll fucking off yourself in a week. This is the new world, it may not yet have quite reached this town, but it's coming. Either deal with this bullshit, or kill yourself properly." He threw up his hands and left the room, leaving Fey to attend her master.

Fey stared after Justin before stepping in the room, "D-don't be mad at him, Master..."
"Who said I was mad at him?" Arsen muttered, "He's right. I don't think Saiya really even cares."
"Don't say that," Fey muttered, turning on the water for the shower, "She loves you."
"If she loved me, she'd be here intead of you."
Fey dipped her head, looking away from him. She grabbed a washcloth and started to scrub the blood off of him.
"If she loved you and you loved her, you would've left when you had the chance," Fey muttered. Arsen turned to glare, his hand fisting as though he was going to hit her, then he turned back the way he was facing.
"Be quiet, Feyvernt."

Justin cocked his head to the side as he listened to the almost rebellious response Arsen had received from Feyvernt. So the mouse had a voice, when she chose to use it against her master.
The splash of water and soft shuck of a washcloth were the only sounds emanating from the porcelain chamber for the next few moments. He walked across the room and began to gently rifle through the collection of belongings on the vanity. Face powders, rouge, and various hair clips and combs rose beneath a thin layer of dust beneath his fingertips. This was a room that bespoke heavily of a female occupant. He scented the air, feeling his nostrils fill with mildew and decay. But there were no recent scents other than that of Arsen, Fey and himself.
Whoever this room belonged to hadn't been here in a long while.
He pulled the drawers open systematically, working from top to bottom, left to right. Braziers, silk shifts and stockings were what his fingers grazed most often, but what he was looking for was found in the middle drawer on the right. A photograph developed in sepia of a couple. The man's face had been burned out, but the body shape and manner of stance screamed Arsen to him. The girl was obviously the queen.
Well, that certainly explained the significance of the room.

Water splashed on the floor as Arsen stood, crawling out.
"M-Master, that looks bad..." Fey muttered, standing beside him. Though, she was the one who stumbled.
"Feyverent? Are you all right?" Arsen wrapped his arms around her shoulders.
"Y-yes, I'm fine. I had a run-in with the gaurds before he called for me."
"You should be moving so soon," He hissed, "If you don't heal properly you'd have to broken to heal correctly. Do you want that?"
She whined, shaking her head.
"Then go sit down. I'll be fine."

When Feyverent came stumbling out of the bathing room Justin had just pulled his shirt back on, having been able to wipe the smears of Arsen's blood off with a rag of what might have been a skirt once. He instantly supported her as she sagged into the chair before the vanity.
"Are you going to be alright? I hadn't realized you were so drained." He looked around blankly, not sure if there was anything he could do to perk her up. Water was unavailable, and he didn't know the first thing about where to find it... this mausoleum was confusion, filled with musty scents, and layers of dust -- not the ideal place to use one's nose to search things out. Instead, he could only fan her with a piece of paper that had been hidden beneath a pile of make up.
The soft splashing of Arsen was easily detectable by him, and with that he was able to gage the rate at which Arsen's strength returned to him. Soon he should be back to full steam.

Fey shook her head, "I'm fine. The guards hurt me before I got here and its still healing. I should've waited a little long. But if I did...." She sighed, "Who knows what would've happened.
There was a small knock at the door. Fey blinked.
"Feyverent....?" The voice murmered, "Is Lady Saiya in there....?"
"N-No, she's not," Feyverent stood shakily.
"But I hear water...."
Arsen was suddenly in the room, half dragging, half pulling Justin into the bathroom, "We have to stay quiet," he murmured.
A girl stepped in, not much older than Feyverent herself.
"What are you doing here then?"
"WAiting for Arsen," Feyverent said quietly.
The other girl laughed, "Stupid wolf. Arsen's dead."
"If Arsen was dead, Saiya would know."
"She's already claiming he is," the girl snorted, "You should know. He's your master."
"Words don't mean anything."
The girl glared before stepping forward and backhanding Fey.
"You idiot," The girl glared, "You shouldn't believe everything."
"NEither should you," Fey muttered, holding the side of her face, the skin red and stinging. The girl noticed the bloddy sheets and gasped, stepping away.
"W-What...? Who... Who did that...?" Horror crossed her face. Feyverent blinked.
'I can't sell out master...'
"I-I... Uhm... I did...."

The growl growing in Justin's throat bubbled out. He pulled away sharply from Arsen and charged into the room. His lips were pulled back in a sneer as he looked the high-handed girl over. She was no more than a slip of a child, but the scent of everlasting decay floating about her revealed her true nature.
He stepped in front of Feyverent, the gutteral growl the only sound.
"You'll watch yourself, corpse." He pushed Fey a little ways behind him.

The girl stepped back from Justin, "Y-You shouldn't be in here. This is Queen Saiya's private room. No one's allowed in here...."
Fey stayed behind Justin and searched out Arsen. He was muttereing something in the bathroom. Presumably something about Justin.
"I-I'll call the gaurds, wolves aren't supossed to be in the castle..." The girl took a step back, reaching for the door.

Before the girls fingertips brushed the burnished brass Justin's hand was holding her wrist.
"For all you know the blood on the sheets is from the last creature that threatened to squeal; or, it could be that I just raped young Feyverent here for the same reason... would you really like to find out which scenario is true?" He grinned a predatorial grin. "Or would you?" He other hand came up, keeping the door shut. "Your decision."

''Don't be that way,'' Fey muttered moving behind Justin.
''You shouldn't be in here,'' The girl tried to pull away, move Justin.
-I'm typing on my phone-
Fey tugged on Justin's sleeve, "Please, leave her alone. She wont do anything," Fey pleaded softly, "She's too afraid to... Please, don't... Just let her go...."
The other girl whined, "Let me go! I-I'll scream!"

Justin's grin spread wider, his body leaning in toward her. "Screaming just gets my blood pumping harder." His head tilted in deference to Fey at his shoulder. "You ask, therefore I'll release her. But if I hear her breathe a word of you being here, with me, to anyone..." A growl rumbled in his throat, his eyes flashing to their natural ice blue, wolf eyes looking out at her.
"Got that, miss?" He pulled Fey protectively to his side, his lip curling at the serving girl. He shoved the girl back into the door. "Go, before I change my mind."
He turned away from the girl, dismissing her. "Fey," His eyes danced to the girl standing shocked and afraid at the door, then toward the bathing chamber. "You spared her life. I hope she gives you reason not to regret it."

The girl blinked for a moment before running out the door.
"T-Thank you.... I don't think she'll say anything. She's too afraid too now...." Fey muttered, sitting down in the chair by the vanity. She groaned, "My head hurts."
Arsen stumbled out of the bathroom, half-dressed, carrying his shirt in his hand.
"Everything all right?" Arsen asked, pulling his shirt over his head, tugging his shirt out of his collar.
Fey nodded.

Justin rested his hand on the top of her head for a moment, before turning to Arsen. "I think your servant needs to rest. You too. But not here." He looked once more around the room. "Too many people may come a huntin'."
He started to head back to the secret passage, then stopped.
"Arsen, you take Fey and hide in the tunnels. I'll run interference from here for now."

She nodded, "Its just a head ache."
"All right," He grabbed Fey's arm and helped her stand, "As for you," He turned to Justin, "be careful. if any gaurds come, get them from behind. if its Shadow, let him know where we are."
"What about Jagger....? he's out."
"We can go there," Arsen muttered, "They wouldn't think I'd go back..."

Justin waited until the tapestry stopped whispering against the wall before he opened the heavy door.
The face of the queen greeted him.
He arched a brow. "Your majesty." He sketched a bow. "To what do I owe this unexpected intrusion?"

Saiya blinked, "You? How did you get in here? No one is allowed in here."

She watched him for a moment, the color in her eyes swirling between a gold and a black, "Get out."

Justin smiled a canine smile. "And where would you prefer me to go, your majesty? Out to be eaten by your hounds? Or the tower that they destroyed? Where, my lady? Where?" He beckoned to the room behind him. "And there is no one else here now, madame. 'Twas but my lady love and myself alone." He raised his eyebrows. "You know how young lovers can be." He looked pointedly at her stomach.
"Fey and I can hardly stand to be apart." In truth he was picturing the young female and her master hurrying through the stone halls hidden behind and beneath the walls.

"Fey?" Saiya blinked, "That girl Arsen tried to give to me? You can't be serious."
She sighed and shook her head, "But, I must wonder how you got here. Gaurds are at the door at all hours and Arsen sealed up that hole--at least, that was what he told me. So, how did you get in, young wolf?"

Justin shrugged one shoulder. "How else do wolves get in but through sheep's clothing?" He elongated one of his canines and winked at her. "You people open your doors to the public and don't expect a little bit of pest infestation?" He held the door wide and stepped back, ushering her into the room. He knew he hadn't answered the question she was after, but as long as she was fed subterfuge the other two could get away; Arsen may love this woman, but her loyalties were not assured at the moment.
"Have a seat my lady. I'm sorry about the mess, it appears your maids have been remiss in their duties, allowing this chamber to fall into neglect." He made a show of dusting off the vanity seat. "Perhaps here, my lady?"

Saiya watched him carefully, "You're up to something," She simply stated, "I can see that. You're trying to buy time for something--or someone."
But, nonetheless, she entered the room, sitting down in the indicated chair.
"So, whats the real reason you're here for?" She sat there for a moment, "You're covering up for someone aren't you?"
~~~~~~
At that same time, Arsen was quietly heading up the stairs of the hidden passage of the tower. He stopped suddenly, Fey running into him.
"Wait," He breathed, "Theres gaurds up there."
"I'll go keep them back," Fey offered, "You need to get out of town, Master."
He watched her for a moment, "Idiot... All right, You keep them here. I'll go. You'd better stay in one piece, Feyverent."
She nodded, continuing up the stairs once Arsen was gone.
~~~~~~
Saiya sat up straight for a moment, listening, "Well, it seems you lady friend was just caught. I thought you couldn't bear to be away from her," Saiya grinned.
"She'll be in the dungeon," With that she stood and walked from the room, regally.
~~~~~~
Feyverent felt herself fall against the cold stone as she was thrown in the dungeon. She let herself lay there, feeling the cold seep through her clothes, touching her skin.
I failed Arsen... She thought sleepily, black taking over her sight as they gaurds laughed and walked away, They were right. I AM good-for-nothing...
And she fell into sleep.
Justin growled as he shoved past the queen and out into the hall. The guards who stood on either side of the door took a moment to grasp the situation as he stalked past. He was around the corner and out of sight before they had a chance to move.
He snarled in frustration as he tried in vain to find his way through the stone corridors; these places should have maps like malls -- with the YOU ARE HERE sticker. He tossed his head from side to side, cocking it every now and again as the scuff of a footstep caught his attention. He was unsure if the queen would have released her hounds, or due to nostalgia may let him be. He id not know her well enough to guess.
Instead he focused on heading down. According to all the movies he'd seen the dungeon was in the basement -- the basement was down. Every stairwell he came to, if he went down so did he. The mildew and damp once again filled is nostrils, but the cool was welcoming.
Eventually ahead of him he heard the sound of cards being flciked down onto a table top.
The wolf was willing to bet the dungeon was close.
Arsen darted through the underground tunnels, moving quickly. He knew the end was near him.
He felt his minor link with Feyvernt cut off.
"Damnit," He stopped and looked back, and sighed, "I can't go back for you. Not this time..."
~~~~~
"Where could Arsen have gone?" Clant pestered Shadow again.
"I don't know!" Shadow snapped, "Stop bothering me. I have to clean up Jagger."
No, they hadn't left Jagger's room. Shadow had ripped off Jagger's shirt and was rubbing the vampire's side with a damp washcloth.
It seemed to hurt the tracker, even in his sleep. His muscles tensed and his jaw clenched, then relaxed.
"We can't get Arsen. He can't stay here. Not anymore," Shadow muttered.
"What can we do?!" Clant shouted.
"We wait."
Clant didn't want to admit that he couldn't help his Blood Brother, but he had no other choice but to accept it as fate.

When the wolf looked around the corner into the antechamber, a lopsided grin split his face.
Go fish. The guards were playing Go Fish.
Psychologists say that it is the natural state of man to revert back to his child-like state; obviously these to vampires were doing just that, in their undead state. Made you wonder whether vampires were really supposed to be big and scary, or if they were just another bid for repeating ones childhood. Perhaps Peter Pan flitted about here somewhere.
His paws made barely a scuff on the stone floor, but it was covered by the chuckles and dialogue of the guards. The piles between them weren't great, so he figured that Feyvrent had been brought in not long before, since the tab;e would have been cleared when the others brought her in.
He eased himself into the room, staying close to the wall, hidden behind crates and shadows. Once or twice he froze fearing their attention had been turned to him, but in the small stone walled chamber the only thing the sounds of outrage were directed at was the player opposing them. It felt like hours, but must ave taken only minutes to make it across the twenty feet to the other door.
He entered a hall flanked on either sides by solid steel doors. There were no old style bars and straw floors here, the glint of reinforced metal and the smell of bleach confounded his senses. He took a step forward to find that the sound of his nails echoed in this place, the sound reverberating off every shiny surface and pounding back into his ears. He stopped. The sound of the Go Fish game stopped.
Without so much as blinking he changed back to human form, his face a grimace of pain at having to do it so suddenly, and with so much force. His breath hissed from between his clenched teeth, but it made no sound. Cautiously he took another step forward. This time the soles of his feet absorbed the sound and he was safe once more.
