She could never remember feeling depress or remorse for how she was. She loved being a vampire. It didn't bother her. She got along with everyone. From werewolves to human, they loved her.
Then again, she didn't look much older than 15 with an angel's face.
Her curly blonde hair was never in her face, but held back by a ponytail. She never wore a jacket that conceled her form, but a geen T-shirt with Gir from Invader Zim on it. Her pants were big and baggy and she had hiking boots on all the time.
She could never remember hating it. She loved her life. After all, her name was Hope.
Unlike her kind, Hope never hating being turned into a vampire, she didn't care if she was different or an outcast. She liked it. She liked differences.
That was why she had come to Crimson Moon, the ageless vampire city. She liked old, antique things, and here she could find anything of the sort.
She spent her first day moving into a small apartment, where the couch was built into the floor and it had its own tower. Her walls were decorated with micellanious posters and pictures she'd collected over the years.
She'd decided to go into town the next day, and explore. She wore her standard Gir shirt and baggy jeans, her hair pulled out of her face with a black ribbon. After locking her apartment door, she headed outside.
For a moment, she remembered the other vampires she'd met making fun of her for how she acted, singing 'Hope, the friendly vampire' to the tune of Casper.
"Thats why I came here," She muttered, "Thats why I escaped here. Surely I can find someone who doesn't mind being a vampire here...."
Suddenly she was slammed forward from behind by some fledglings, about her age, as they ran past and laughing.
"Well, they're still as bad as human boys," She sighed and sat up cross legged on the sidewalk. Her nose felt broken, but it wasn't bleeding, which was good. She rubbed in and sighed, "Only here a day and I get hurt! The human luck still hasn't worn off!" She whined, rubbing the back of her head.

Atorey's beautiful Asian features twisted at the sight of the others knocking the girl down. She was a vampire after all and no doubt possessed much strength. Why is she allowing them to do such things?.
Atorey Slaughter walked slowly towards the girl. "You there, what's your name?"

"I-I'm Hope..." She muttered, standing. She was confused. When she got knocked down everyone kept going, "Who are you....?'
She brushed some dirt off her clothes and pushed some of her hair out of her face, watching him. No, he didn't seem much different from the others.

"My name is Atorey Slaughter." he always found introductions to be stodgy, though he did seem to be able to connect to this girl in some way. Of course he didn't know what way that was.
"Why do you let those others bother and humiliate you so? Are you not a vampire, a creature to be feared and respected?" his eyes grew a little wider. "Perhaps you are the type to loath being a vampire and that is why you do not fight." He shrugged, "or maybe I'm missing the mark completely."

"Hardly. I like the way I am," Hope stated simply with a small smile, "I just stay out of other's way and they usually stay out of mine. Makes sense as to why most creatures like me so much. I don't bother them. Thats mostly why I came to Crimson."
She gave another smile for him.

"I see," he smiled also, "we may just have something in common then. I always find it hard to find other vampires who are happy being undead." Atorey made a gesture that seemed to ask if she wished to walk with him. A walk was the entire reason he'd come upon Crimson Moon. "Perhaps you could inform me a bit more as to your way of doing things, then maybe I can find a solid reason to confront these evil creatures." He laughed then, quiet and lyrical. Atorey seemed to always find ways of amusing himself with his own inflated ego and sarcasm; though he was serious about teaching the rude a lesson.

She smiled, taking up his offer.
"I've just found no reason to hate this. How could I? I've always liked being different. All the others I've met have found it odd to, but I don't mind. I'm my own person, and no one can change that, right?" She shrugged, "Though, they way I am has gotten me insulted... but I don't mind. Thats how life is, y'know?"

"Unfortunately I do." he replied, "The small number of us who, for lack of a better word, celebrate being what we now are often ridiculed and deemed insensitive. Really I find it to be quite the opposite." again that quiet lyrical laugh. "Those who made the mistake of crossing me because of that subject found me not to be the easy mark they made me out to be."
Playfully he put up his fists and weakly swung at the air in front of himself. His icy gray eyes, so strange on an Asian face, glittered.

She gave a small giggle, "For being such invincible and feared creatures, we act no more than humans. Some just don't want to leave that life."
She jumped up and landed on a chain link fence walking down it's lenght, "The human life is still the comfort zone for most of us. We never want to leave what we know."

"Well put," Atorey agreed, "but that still doesn't give them the right to abhor the few of us that don't need that comfort." With that he merely left the discussion topic to Hope, willing to be there to hear more of her troubles or simply to discuss further about herself and how she came to be. He closed his eyes and lifted his head to the sky, breathing in deep before returning to what was at hand.
His eyes fell upon her and patiently awaited any motion or word she had to offer.

She sighed, "If there was one thing i hated about this life, its not knowing what others are thinking. They can easily hide their hate and lust from me, but I can still smell it.... It disturbs me."
She crouched on the fence, "Do you mind me asking why you came here? To Crimson?"

"Do you want the long answer or the short one?" he chuckled. "I just decided to go for a walk one night, and well, I had planned to just walk through this town. That is until I saw you being shoved to the ground as that group passed." His eyes were serious now, no longer laughing, no longer hinting at the stars that were trapped within them.
"If you think I'm simply after you for lustful purposes or with the intent of using you I'm afraid something has misled you. There is no need to fear the one good you find in a sphere of evil."

"I didn't think that at all. Its odd. I just met you, but I trust you. I've always been that way..." She mused absently, "so, you would've kept walking if you didn't see me fall? Odd how fate works isn't it?"
She smiled and climbed down the fence, "Walking does help sometimes doesn't it? To forget what you want to forget, loose what you want to be lost or stay that way..." She sighed.

Atorey smiled at the girl. Oh how brilliant her mind was! "I feel the same way." he gave a small bow to her as if to nod, a trait from his Japanese history he hadn't lost after becoming a shade.

"For me, it helps me calm down. When I get really mad, I walk. Its soothing somehow," She gave a small, sad sigh, "The world would be much quieter if everyone did that instead of react. But then, there would be no history at all. No idependance, no Holocaust, no wars.... I don't theink there wold even be vampires off that. No jealous rages in which most vampires are created..."

Slaughter listened intently as she spoke, thanking fate that he had stumbled upon some one with similar views and perhaps even more intelligence than he himself possessed.
"I suppose there can be no peace without war. Whether it be large battles with thousands of men, or the inner war we often fight against ourselves."

"Yes. Though, wouldn't it be nicer if the there was peace all the time?" She smiled a bit, "What a twisted world that would be. No fun could exist, no happienes, only what feeds us and fuels us. No more than being children again, really. There aren't very many who want to be like children again anymore. It was nice to be that carefree. Just... free really. Even as a vampire, you're bound by simple things that you need to survive. As a child, there wasn't a care in the world...."
She smiled again, "Ack. I'm rambling again. I do that alot. Sorry if it bores you."

"It bores me not." he said. Atorey ran a hand through his perfectly messy hair.

She blinked at him, surprised, "Really? It usually bores most... Tehn again, most are narrow-minded. I can tell you're different in that way at least," She shrugged.
"So, do you mind me asking what you plan on doing once this conversation has ended? I am a curious vampire. After all, Curiousity killed the Cat. Thats how it started for me," She smiled, "It was fun though."

He turned to her and bowed. "Once this conversation has ended? Well I had hoped to have another one. That, however, depends upon you." He held his hand out, his arm close to his side and bent at the elbow as if displaying something in his palm that wasn't there. "After all, what good is only one conversation with some one sharing similar interests?"

Hope's smile was a bit wider, ''You'll have to deal with some collapsed boxes. I just finished moving in this morning. I didn't get the boxes out yet,'' She gave nervous laugh.

"Yes it is, so I'm afraid I"m not very familiar with it. Perhaps we could explore a little yes?"
He started to walk at a slow pace. Keeping his blue eyes focused on the road ahead.

"Allright," She smiled, "I haven't seen that much of this town either. Just the house at the main gate--the Hunter Reo house. That was all.
"Very interesting group of vampires there.... All trackers..." She mused walking with him.

He didn't have much to say, and so he just enjoyed listening to his surroundings, and his new companion Hope, and she offered what she had already seen of the town. I hope this will be at least a tiny bit of an exciting adventure. Not that doing anything with her could be unexciting. Atorey thought to himself with a smile.

Atorey looked down the street and then to Hope. "We'll let's see, and if it isn't there, we'll just keep walking until we find it!"
