"I'm not sure..." Fey muttered, "I'd heard him talking about it with Arsen. I think he was born that way. He always talks about his father's dissaproval of him. How his father told him that he couldn't even die right, that he was worthless.
"He tells Arsen how his pack was hunted down, and he couldn't be killed. But he also talks about his sister, Caya. She died for him...."
Fey shook her head, "I don't want to talk about it. It even hurts me to talk about it, it even hurts him...."

They had reached the bottom of the steps now, and he had stopped abruptly, laving her standing on the stairs above him. His nostrils flared, his eyes scanning for movement. He didn't see anything at the moment, but he didn't want to take a chance.
He arched his head back and relished in a warning howl, the sound reverberating off the walls and flowing into the darkness. He turned the pitch to that of a hunting cry. He wanted everything down here to know he was not afraid to kill.
He waited for the last residue of his cry to fade away before continuing forward.
"If anyone gets suspicious stay silent and I'll pretend I'm alone -- just stay quiet." He didn't wait for her to respond, instead he began to look left and right, hoping to see a door or some sort of chamber. "Where is your gut telling us we should go?"

Fey nodded to him before closing her eyes and listening.
"I don't understand..." She muttered and brushed her fingers along the wall, "Two different directions. Left and forward..... I think Left is the safer bet...."
She pulled her had away from the wall her nose wrinkling and grimacing, "Ew. Its slimy."

He laughed at her remark as he turned down the first left they reached.
"Should have brought gloves, madam." He continued to scent the air as they travelled down this hall. Every now and again he could hear something slithering along the floor, causing a low growl to rumble from his chest in reaction. He pulled Fey tight in behind him, careful to be sure nothing could attack them from behind. "Where next?" They stood at a t-intersection. The left path headed up an incline, the right descending down.
The dark was encompassing them, the shadows no longer distinguishable from the rest of the walls; it was all just one darkness. The only way he could tell roughly where they were was by keeping a mental map. He could only tell their options of direction by touching the aforementioned slimy walls.

"I see one reason why Shadow didn't want me down here. Its too confusing for me," Fey sighed, "I think I hear something.... To the left. I think its friendly though... It might be a bat or something...."
Fey closed her eyes, listening again, "I can't hear anything over it, let alone tell where to go.
"I think its trying to get us too foloow it. Should we listen?"

Justin shrugged, "It's up to you. I can handle whatever comes, probably. If not, well, I can give you time to get away. All you'd have to do is follow our scents back."
He laughed a moment. "You want to follow the wittle bat? Thin it's Count Dracula, or one of his wives?" He looked around him in mock horror. "In this place I could believe it." He closed his eyes, and listened like she had, but could hear nothing. Perhaps all she heard were memories and rememberances of when she had last been down here.

"I think we should got to the left," Fey said, "Its probably a better bet... Besides, bats don't bother me."
She smiled at him, not that it could be seen in the darkness, and pulled his hand to the left.
"Lets go, Justin," She said softly, "I think it really watns us to follow."
(Aggh. Sorry about the length. I'm reading Decendants of Darkness and I just found the Japanese name so I'm going to go switch from book to interenet reading.^^ I'll still replay)

Justin gave in to the soft tug of her weight. "All right if you're sure." She better have some idea of where they were going, all he could do was make sure she didn't die on her trip to self-discovery. "Do you remember anything else about this place? What it smelt like, looked like? Anything?"
He followed behind Fey, letting her take the lead. He didn't like it for safety reasons, but she needed to follow her gut to wherever it lead them; and to do that she needed to be allowed her head.
OOC: Short is alright -- I'm like Justin at the moment, flailing about in the dark here lol At least you're getting out some responses.

(XDXD All right. I was going to have a flash-back-ish thing in a moment happen... So, that may help.)
"I knew that we were in a chamber. Arsen had a torch with him before and I could see. We did go up stairs a few times though. And there were some markings on the wall.... Aroudn here I think..." Fey's fingers brushed the wall a bit, "The hallway led to more of a chamber than anything else. And the scent.... It smelled like a forest. The chamber the brought me to was like an underground forest. Light was still in there somehow too...."

Justin was glad she couldn't see the scepticism on his face. It was that he didn't believe her, it was just that this castle seemed to be unending in its secrets and hidden rooms.
OOC: Ever read a book called Cast in Shadows or Cast in Courtlight? The room you describe is pretty much in that book
BIC:
He merely followed where she led in silence. She needed to listen to her own voice, let it pull the memories from her shaded mind. He knew what it was like to be dazed and confused thoughts and memories combining into one blur. Memories and dreams blending into a seamless landscape.
She had to swim to the surface by herself and find shore.

(I haven't, but I think I stole the idea from a movie I once saw.... That, or the new PKMN game. XD)
Fey paused to sniff the air every now and then. She was glad Arsen and Clant hadn't blocked her memory of this place.
"Justin, can you hear it? I think its the bat again," Fey muttered. She didn't seem to be asking him, but more of talking to herself. She squeezed his hand a little harder, "Its quiet down here... I don't like it. It makes me antsy."
She paused. They were at the head of the stairs. In front the stairs led up, the the left they went down and it was flat to the right.
"Where'd he go...?" Fey muttered softly.

Justin didn't respond, as she carried right on. He wasn't even sure if she was aware of him, except for squeezing his hand. He held on tight to hers, watching this way and that. He still didn't hear anything other than the occasional scuff of her feet.
When they reached the stairs he stood back, still holding her hand, but allowing her the room to think for herself. She seemed to be tapping into her memories now. Perhaps as they drew closer to the room she would remember more.
Torchlight and forest. That was how they would recognize this place. He scented the air, but the smell of mould and clay clogged his airways. He would have to rely fully on her.
Sounds to the right caught his attention. The loud sound of staggering footsteps, the hollow thump and drag of, mayhap a lame leg? He rolled his shoulders, the nerve ends twitching to raise his hackles.
"Make a decision, Fey."

Fey scented the air again, "I don't know where to go now.... I can't tell."
She closed her eyes, the other sounds fading out. What came to her was in flashes. Walking down the hall, clinging onto Clant. And alot of stairs.
"This way," She breathed, tugging him to the left and moved quickly down the stairs.
"It has to be down here, I know it..." She muttered softly.

Justin was growling now, watching the blackness to the right avidly. When Fey murmured about going the other way he was glad to jog after her, hoping the creature would fade behind them.
It was treacherous going dow the stairs. They were coated in dust, slippery to his socked feet.
Shoes, as an afterthought, wold have been useful. At least the socks kept out some of the cold.

Fey kept moving. The stairs had faded into a floor, moving up at a steady slant.
Then, she suddenly stopped.
"Wait a minute..." She started sniffing the air again, "Justin... I smell something.... I don't know what.... And I hear something too..."
She took a tentative step back, "But the room... I think its that way..."

Justin placed a hand on the small of her back. "Keep moving forward, whatever is there, I'll take care of it." He pressed her forward, giving her no chance to retaliate.
He could hear something, but couldn't clearly identify what. As for smell, at the moment his nostrils were filled with the scent of Fey and stone. It was odd for his senses to be so dense, but under the circumstances, he wouldn't doubt that it was some sort of charm in this passageway.

Fey nodded, stepping forward carefully.
"What do you think it is? Another one of those things Shadow chased back here...? Its smells disgusting..." She covered her nose with her free hand. A few sounds echoed quietly. Their footsteps and breathing. But, it also sounded like claws clicking on the stone--like a deer or something. But, the sounds was moving farther away from them
"I don't think it'll hurt us....."

He didn't reply. Justin was at full alert now. He could smell pine and water. Grass. Plants.
He could hear bubbling water.
He wanted to barge on ahead, but knew this journey wasn't for him. This was Fey's moment. He wouldn't ruin it for her. He quirked a brow as he heard what sounded like cloven hooves on stone. Whatever was ahead was for her to experience first; if it tried to kill her, then he'd step in. Her future was coming on.

Fey moved quietly. She could hear the water too.
"I-I think its down here. I-I think we found it!" She breathed, moving faster now, loosing all precautions.
Fey started runnning through the dark halls, slowing down only to listen to the hooves as they moved farther away at a steady walk. She only skidded to a stop at a wall--nearly slamming into it.
There was a large iron door to the right and more stairs to the left.
"Which way now....?" She sighed, running her fingers over the metal, "This isn't the right door..."

OOC: Little better lol

Justin groaned as he scrambled after her, seeming to catch his toe on the corner of every turn. By the time he'd caught back up with Fey he was beginning to lose patience.
"What do you mean thins isn't the right door?" He too placed his hand against it, as if he could tell what was on the other side merely by touch. "What would make it the right door?" He thought they'd been on the right track; how much farther had they to go? "If this is the wrong place, why don't we keep going?"
He didn't want to begin to get short with her, but this wasn't as quick as he had thought.
"When did you last come down here and successfully find the place?"

"The door before... It was wooden... I think... And the only other time I came down here was with Arsen and Clant. They led me there..." Fey whined.
She slammed her fist into the door before sitting on the stone, "Its not fair. I just want to go home. I just want to be a normal werewolf. I don't want to be this way."
She sniffled a bit before standing and running a hand over her face.
"Lets go the other way, up the stairs. Thats the one thing I remember--alot of stairs. And the end of a staircase there was a wooden door. I'm sure of it," Fey sighed and leaned back against the door, "I don't know what to do next... Should we turn back?"

Justin looked at her calmly. "Done your temper tantrum?" He arched a brow. "We can go back if you like, back to the stairs." He thought about the creature that was back there. He'd deal with it, if it were still there. "Come on," he held out his hand to her. "Shall we try again?"
He was quiet a moment after asking, hoping to her the hooves again, but nothing. For all he knew it was the very Devil down here, tormenting them.

Fey nodded, taking his hand, "All right. Lets go."
She sighed, "Justin, do you think this is crazy? Going to a room that I'm not even sure if itt exsists? You can tell me. I wont be mad.
"I'm just... I hate this. I'm not even sure if its real any more. and we're getting lost down here... and without Arsen, Clant, or Jagger, we can't find it easily...."
She groaned, the sound almost a growl, "What do you think, Justin? If we don't find it, I'm sure the spell will wear off. Maybe even if I leave Crimson..."
~~~~~~~~
Arsen was shaking his head, pacing the length of the cell. He'd been caught? He was back? He was just outside of twon. Suddenly, it hit him.
"Justin," He snarled, hitting the wall with a fist, recoiling as a shock shot up his arm.
"You got Arsen too. Good," Jirou said, standing at the front of the cell. Arsen snarled, turning toward the king, "I'll just leave you in here to rot. Saiya would never know."
"Bastard!" Arsen snarled, "Jack ass! You're no king! You're a coward!"
Arsen laucned himself at the bars, only to recoil as one of the gaurds stabbed him, catching his heart.
Arsen stumbled back, blinking at Jirou in confusion.
"Poison. Jagger, Shadow and I have the cure. No vampire can heal from this. Nothing can. Now, go lay down, Arsen. Look, you even have some snacks," Jirou grinned and Gwen and Reg before walking away.
Arsen snarled again, pacing to the corner and dropping to sit down. He glared at the knife in his chest before weakly pulling it out.
"I'm Arsen," He looked over to Gwen and Reg, "And I'd be more than greatful if you'd kill me here and now."
(Hapy, Silver?) [Honestly? No, but that has nothing to do with this. This is good. Thanks.]
"The question isn't whether this will wear off, but whether you can deal with not knowing." He turned and began walking back with her. "This isn't crazy, this is closure. How bad do you want it?" His ears were attuned to the silence of this stone maze, waiting for the clomp and slide of the creature. "I'll stay down here for days with you if you like, if you think it's what you need. Or I can take you to another town. My truck, hopefully, is still parked by the woods outside the town. it's got a full tank of gas. We could drive away, maybe go up north." He grinned, thinking of snow. "Way up north."
The earthy smell of the stone around them was calm and cool, unlike his mind. It raced with ideas on where they could go. But he knew she might not be able to. Like it or not her roots had found a hold in this hard rocky, dead, soil. Arsen, Clant, Jagger, and Shadow were her Pack, although she may not acknowledge it. Whether she'd be able to cut her ties with this place was debatable. She may be able to outgrow this spell, curse, or whatever held the wolf bound, but it would certainly require she be able to grow up herself.
Fey sighed, "I've lived like this four fourteen years. I'm not sure how much longer I can go without knowing....
"But... I do want to be a wolf again, I really do. One of the things I remember from when I was younger was laying with my parents when they were wolves, laying with me and my sister. It was so nice and relaxing--I'll never forget.
"And... I think I'd be... willing to drive up north with you... I think if we go far enough that the spell will break--only because of the distance between Arsen, Clant, and I...."
Justin glanced over his shoulder at her. "Do you want to then?" He was beginning to realize how young she actually was. The wolf in him was assessing her within his own standards, but the human in him had not looked once upon her; it had not occurred to him until now that the immortal had looked at her through his blue eyes and seen merely an ageless soul much like his own, not the young spirit attached. The human saw a child, a child looking in vain for the parents she had lost, wanting back the childhood that was slipping away.
Perhaps she should have an amulet like the gypsies' used to assign their orphans. Dri would be able to make her one. He mulled the idea over in his mind.
"I think I know somewhere we could go, if you are willing."
"All right," Fey smiled, "I think I am. I just want to make sure that room isn't down here though. I don't think I'd be able to leave if I didn't."
She grabbed his hand, giving it a small squeeze, "I'm just not sure how much longer I can stand being down here though... It's dark and I can't see anything..."
She sighed, running her fingers on the wall, then apused, "Wait... There's markings.... I remeber these..."
Her fingers sketched the desgin in the dark, "When I came down here last, we went this way..."
Justin reached, briefly brushing his fingers over the engravings. "Alright then, where to next? What else can you remember?" This is beginning to feel like the search for Atlantis.
He could hear the thud and grating noise of a limb being dragged across the floor. He rolled his shoulders again. They'd best get moving before his instincts took him into a fight he could probably avoid.
"That we followed these. They were our markers..." Fey muttered, brushing her fingers to the left, then the right, "Which way did we come in from?"
She nearly jumped when she heard the thud and drag, "Let me see..."
She stooped down, running her fingers along the bottom of the wall, "There were engravings here too, deers running. That'll tell us which way to go..."
She felt the wall, smiling as she felt the engravings. She stood and pointed, "Its that way. It isn't that much farther now. I remeber what these walls looked like. When we were close we saw these."
Justin twitched as the sound behind them got that little bit louder. "Let's go then." He gave her shoulder a light push. "We need to get moving."
His head tilted to the side as he listened to the sounds. His tongue licked up his left canine, and he swallowed hard. He wanted desperately to go toward it, find out what it was. He wasn't sure if it was a suicidal tendency or just plain old curiosity. But he wouldn't leave Fey on her own, wouldn't let her possibly come to harm. He snapped his neck to the right, correcting himself before he did as his body wanted him to. He would not give into the beast, even on this small matter.
Maybe later.
