A nervous half chuckle escaped Daniel's lips. Ava's dry wit was a good sign. "I wont hurt you--or do anything kinky. We'll talk things out before we try anything, for sure. And I can certainly help you create a new life for yourself."
Daniel's hand stroked through his hair, the gesture one that he often did when thinking deeply, or when he was nervous. He had just agreed to create a new life for a vampire. He would need to get her papers, official papers. Criminal behaviour was not in his nature. Sure he had done some B&E in the pursuit of spirits, but that was hardly a federal offence. He was pretty sure that one needed special 'contacts' to get that kind of paperwork. Shaking his head, he put such thoughts out of his mind. He could talk to dead people; dead people who tended to have answers when he needed them. Things tended to have a way of working themselves out, this would too.
To do the necromancy he had dreamed, it would require Ava to take his blood. He was no doctor, but Daniel figured they should hold off on him donating any more blood for a while. He still wasn't feeling one hundred percent and didn't want to open himself up to sickness. That would slow things down even more. He explained this to Ava.
"So," he said, "we'll start getting you settled first.
"You'll need a name--a full name, a place to live. But to start with, I think we should work on your people skills." He eyed her from head to toe. She looked very human now. "You have the look down, but you need to not mangle people that upset you. Or is there another way that you think I can help you?"
A loud grumble interrupted the space between words. Daniel's cheeks blushed crimson. He had spent so much time working with his talking board that he had forgotten to eat. Naturally, his stomach chose a terrible time to announce itself.
