Is anyone excited about the adaptation of Stephanie Meyer's book "Twilight" to movie form? IMDB Webpage: imdb.com/title/tt1099212/Kristen Stewart shall be playing Isabella "Bella" Swan, and the movie is currently in production. Edward Cullen shall be played by Robert Pattinson - which I take it back, he's a gorgeous actor when I don't think of him as Cedric Diggory! EDIT: Pictures of the cast. Edward Cullen (Robert Pattinson) Isabella "Bella" Swan (Kristen Steward)

I believe it comes out in 2008 or 2009, perhaps during the summer. Did you know that the girl who plays Bella - Kristen Stewart - actually has a pet wolf? I've seen some pictures of her with it, but I can't seem to find them again. They're worth looking for, though!

What is Twilight about? I've been hearing about it a lot, and a lot of people on other sites have been rp'ing as the characters, but what is it about? I'd never heard of it.

Quoth from Wikipedia:
"Twilight is a young adult novel written by author Stephenie Meyer, originally published in hardcover in 2005. It is the genesis of the Twilight series, and introduces seventeen-year-old Isabella "Bella" Swan, a girl who moves from Phoenix, Arizona to Forks, Washington and finds her life in danger when she falls in love with a vampire named Edward Cullen. The story is currently being adapted into a movie, which will begin filming in February of 2008. The roles of Edward Cullen and Isabella Swan have already been cast. Edward will be played by Robert Pattinson (known for his performance as Cedric Diggory in Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire); and Bella will be played by Kristen Stewart."
Ooh, so Diggory shall be the golden boy everyone knows as Edward in the Twilight world. Interesting...Not my first choice, but interesting none the less.

... so, no offense just an observation, another vampire romance?
Well, I suppose if it is written well, it may be worth while.

Yeeep. Another vampire romance - another one! I personally can't find out which actor looks most like Edward myself, so no offense taken. I just think the actor playing him looks immensely better out of HP character. But I do agree, he isn't exactly right for the character of Edward. There should be more romance novels other than Weres and Vamps, in my opinion; unless done right - as a Therian for the werewolf (w/out a p. shift), and a Sanguinarian (w/out the powers/immortality/aristocratic-I-can't-believe-that-I'm-so-pale crap. Sorry if I offended anyone, but seriously; there's just too much of it.

not at all. i find the paleness fitting though because it screams ANEMIA! i cant find an edward i want either, but i dont think theyd have that much of a problem finding a gorgeous guy in the late teens-> early twenties who's just looking for a break! ugh! maybe ill draw edward and put him in art one day...

The only problem I find with the whole non-romance thing and weres is that then it just becomes a running monologue of how they live, which after a little while gets dull. I'm not much of a fan of the "they're being hunted down" storyline either -- it too gets tiring.
And thinking of something else... well, presumably has yet to be done.

... I think Edward is a pansy... compared to D, Alucard, and Seras.... Only because her wont turn Bella untill they're married. Lame!
No offense Edwardfangirls.

To me I may construe it as a selfish act, a) to even consider turning someone, and b) to put a condition on it. If someone wants to be turned, it is not your responsibility to decide when.
... but I haven't read the books so...

Edward is a pansy for it. And love Bella no matter what. Thats just a like... psuedo romance when you think about it. You can't always love someone unconditionally.

i like edward. and i think that it is sweet that he wants a solid commitment before changing bella. it IS a huge thing to do. its also something that could be very difficult for him to do, resisting her is a daily struggle. and also it'll hurt like a son of a bitch for bella when it does happen. I think it wise to wait for the opportune moment, they are talking about being together forever. i also believe in unconditional love. keep in mind that alucard, seras and D are all standing on the isolated, violent, and miserable side of the fence, and with edward, it is about love and being together. they are completely different. and edward STILL has superpowers, which he uses when he needs to. nope, i definitly like edward better. then D, then seras, then alucard. (to put those 4 in order)

Well, when you put it that way it does make sense... but all the same, Carlise could do it instead--if Bella really did want to become a vampire.... So, there are really two sides to this.

well there are many sides and ya carlisle COULD do it but then it wouldn't be as special, and edward doing it could be seen as an obstacle that their love needs to surpass to prove itself, or something cute and corny like that. and ya bella is cool with either carlisle or alice doing it but she really would prefer edward

In my opinion I think they should stop making movies based on books because not only does it ruin the book and everything you imagined it to be but it also makes people lazy, so instead of reading the books they'll just go and watch the movie...lame...

I saw the trailer for Twilight today, and honestly, at first I thought it was for a new Superman movie. The chick (Bella?) was all "You're super speedy, and much stronger than a human (guy is stopping a car from crushing them with his bare hand)..." and I thought Clark Kent... and then she says ".. and your skin is so pale.." I'm thinking, Ahh, fuck, another vampire movie. As the guy in front of me in the theatre summed it up: Boy meets girl, one of 'em is dead. Semi-happily ever after. Entire movie in a nutshell. Another undead Romeo and Juliet. ______________________ Okay, so it came out yesterday, and seeing all the screaming fans mobbing the MUCH building in Toronto on the Tv made me find this: 5 Reasons You'll Hate TwilightIt totally cheered me up, and made me think my "Superman" pronouncement was totally valid.

lol that video was fairly clever. i especially enjoyed bela lugosi singing 'carry on my wayward son', and the comment about all of anne rice's characters being gay. my sister and her friends and admin took me to see this movie. i was very frustrated by the lack of action and all the close up face views ("hey cameraman, back the fuck up!") i was also sick of all the sensitive crap and whispering, and the main action was fleeting and only quickly glimpsed at most. I left the theatre anxious and unsatisfied. but that's okay becuz i don't like the movie theatres anyway. i did not however find it to resemble a superhero movie at all. in superhero movies, a lot more happens. but my sister and her friends loved it. depends how you like your tea.

Im sorry, but if im going to sit through 2 hours of bad vampire movie, its going to be Queen of the Damned, because at least then i can still enjoy the music.
I thought Twilight was a HORRIBLE movie. It's pretty much aimed solely at 14yr old girls. 9/10 of the movie was just two teenagers staring at each other with perpetual looks of surprise, and the other 1/10 was them running away from something.
But i did enjoy the video about hating Twilight. The Bela Lugosi singing part was fricken hilarious. Im kinda upset that they wuold lump twilight into the same category as The Vampire Chronicles--because as long and lame as they are, they are still WAY better than Twilight could ever be.

I thought Twilight was a bad book. The movie was better than the book but I have to admit they could have chosen better actors, and only a few *cough*Carlise, Emmett and James *cough* were drool worthy. The movie itself wasn't as spaz worthy as the book tho. One would think Bella should act more spastic than she did and the stupid antics made me giggle every 2 seconds or so, especially Jasper's face, he looked like he had a pickle up his ass.

hahhhaa i did not find emett, carlisle or james to be attractive in the least, but i did like jasper. he always looked crazy and a bit frightened. he reminded me of edward scissorhands. i thought him adorable. but the rest of them could go to hell. the rest of the movie can go to hell.

I have finally finished read the books. Books 1-3 were good, not worth owning but a one time read. The last one was realllllly mushy and the ending was like Stephanie Meyer had been focusing way to much on the movies or wanted a happily ever after ending.
After having read the books the movies now really seem to suck to me. I thought they were ok before reading the book but now I can't sit and watch any of them on the TV without wanting to change the channel.
It's the puppy eyes they make me want to through stuff at the TV. And since I don't own any of the TVs I watch I really don't want to do that. Puupy eyes from guys in reality have the similiar reaction I want to hit them to get them to stop it.
