The Highlander(1986) I watched this movie for my birthday because I loved the T.V series based on it. It is about an immortal named Connor MacLeod(Christopher Lambert) and his fight to be the most powerful immortal to survive. It was a let down to me. It was so ridiculous that all you could do was laugh at it. Christopher Lambert acting was lacking. The evil immortal who is suppose to be like extremely scary, by the end of the movie is no more than a class clown.Sean Connery who plays MacLeod's mentour does the best acting in the movie, and he plays an Egyptian/ Spanish immortal. The sword fights were ok, but the ones in the T.V series was better chorographed. The music was good as it was mostly Queen. The special effects was like watching an early Disney movie. I wouldn't recommend renting it but if you saw it on T.V it would be ok to watch. The T.V. series on the otherhand was much better. If I see it at the library I would take it out and watch it all.

Its very good for making smart ass comments all the way through though BUT, it is also much too long for the content, and so, so, SO horribly done. Two hours of my life I will NEVER see again. Only reason it had good music was cause it was probably the only record they could get the rights to to use as a soundtrack. AND, where the hell did he hide his sword? I mean really, boy is sitting down with a four foot sword, and pulls it out of his ass... how?!?

The tv show was so much better - and it had a member of The Who, how can you get any better than that?

I love the T.V. series it was so well done. They had lots of good actors. It was filmed in Vancouver, Canada and in France, if memory serves me right. And the sword fights and martial arts were so cool you just wanted to try them out with your friends at school. Not to mention their flashbacks were not as confusing.
