The Vampire Diaries is a YA horror series of novels written by the NYT Bestselling author of the Night World series, L.J. Smith.
Starting in September The CW, an American television network, will be broadcasting a show about L.J. Smith's Vampire Diaries.
In the wake of this news, I was wondering how many people had actually read this young adult series.

I BLOODY LOVED THE BOOKS!!!!!!!!!!!
They have everything. The Witty humor, the naive girl, the dueling vampire brothers desperately wanting her love! The bloodthirsty master, tragedy, com, and of course love. It's quite cute in certain points too. It was defiantly written much better than The Night World series.

I read the first book, thought it was okay. Planning on reading the whole series once I can get my hands on them.

i found after the third or fourth they got really terrible. the writing was not good to begin with in my opinion but after # 3 or 4 the plot fell down the sewer. all that wings of redemption stuff with the demons inside Damon was such icky silly junk. the first 2 or 3 though were good for feathery summer romance reads

The writing isn't my favorite, but I hate not finishing a series once I start it.

I'll probably just go to the library or something to look for them.
