Toru shook his head. "I don't mind where we go." The young vampire didn't care where they went really; so long as Valentine didn't leave him somewhere. He seemed to have a strange fear of being abandoned. It didn't come as a surprise seeing as how he WAS abandoned as a child. Green eyes watched the older vampire like a child does a parent.

Valentine spoke good-temperedly to the cashier behind the ticket counter. "Two tickets for the place farthest south as we can go, please." He reached over and ruffled what of Toru's bangs stuck out from under the hat on his head reassuringly. The younger vampire was anxious, he knew, but he had no intention of running off on him. In the back of his mind, the red-head could hear Lilly's voice laughing that he could never pass up a lost child.
Tickets in hand, he lead Toru down the sidewalk to the boarding platform. The conductor checked their tickets and the fake passports Valentine flashed him and let them pass. A short time later the two were in the sleeping compartment aboard a train headed south, their bags hanging by the door.
"This is faster than walking," the older of the two said as he sat down on a small chair. "When we get off, we'll be a good seventy miles from where we were, and we'll plan further from there."
He fiddled absently with the ring that encircled the ring finger of his right hand. "Toru, I'm sorry that this turned into such a mess."

"Don't worry about it too much." Toru said with a small smile. "My only hope is that we've lost him." His purple hair fell over his eyes as he turned to look out the window. The young vampire played with his fingers absently and worry plagued his mind.
