"Why? Alex preferred me over you, didn't he? Why shouldn't his sister?" Eschaton taunted as Kaito instantly went rigid. "Don't tell me you're in love with the girl, Kaito, that would be in very poor form, wouldn't it?"
Kaito focused on his brother, unable to look at Aliya. He had been hiding his connection to Alex, wanting to find the right moment to talk about it, but it had never come. Now, it looked to be too late.

As soon as AEschaton mentioned her brother,those long nights she'd spent consoling him flooded back. The tears taht had stained her clothes, the bruises he'd left from holding her tight, the brning sshe felt when he spoke of the man.
She held kaito's hand tight as she stepped out from behing Kaito, her eyes flashing.
"... It was you," she breathed, her shadow morphing again, "... You're the reason he's gone."

Eschaton laughed, seeing the shadow change and holding his hands up as if in surrender before her anger. Kaito looked away from his brother and Aliya, unable to contain his feeling that he hadn't truly dealt with since hearing of Alex's death.
"Ah, if only. No,the one who drove your brother made with rage and lust was the man whose very hand you are holding so tightly," the Master vampire answered her. "Your brother was in love with dear little Kai here as Kai was with your brother."
Kaito looked up at Eschaton before looking back down to the concrete sidewalk. His brother's words dredged up all the hurt and pain he'd been bottling inside.

Aliya blinked, her eyes mellowing out and her shadow returning to normal. She peered up at Kaito, "... You....?"
She shook her head, closing her eyes, squeezing Kaito's hand tighter, "even if thats what happened, Kaito's not the one he spent his nightmares running from. That was the one who killed him. His insanity drove him to his end, insanity caused by you, not Kaito."
She shook her head, her body tense for a moment, then she tugged Kaito's hand and started to walk.
She realeased his hand as she stood at the passenger's door, her arms crossed. She wanted to think. She needed to breathe. She felt her throat constrict andher vision got blurry and she wipped a hand over her eyes.

Kaito unlocked the car, opening the door for Aliya as he looked up at Eschaton. His brother was now leaning on the door, looking at the girl at his side with intensity in his gaze.
"If you really believe that Kai didn't drive your brother to madness, then I would ask him about it. I'm sure he could tell you stories. He's not a saint as you seem to believe," the Master vampire said, stepping back from the door as Bastet slunk up out of the darkness to stand next to him. "All three of us are made of darker stuff then that. Ask your lover about your brother."
With that, Eschaton walked away from them, leaving Kaito with his dreams lying broken around him.

Aliay didn't respond butgot in thecar. once she wassure that Eschaton was gone, her body curled and she bent forward, crushing her fists against her eyes as tears started to fall.
She tried so hard.... to forget, to be strong,to not let her brother affect her so much, yet here he was, worming his way back into her world,even in death.
"Damn you, Alex," she muttered under herbreath.

Kaito closed the door to the car, walking over the other side and opening the driver's door before slipping into the car. He started it, turning on the heater as if in a dream before just holding onto the wheel loosely with both hands.
"Are you mad?"

"Not at you, if thats what you mean," her voice muffled. She sat up, running her hands over face, "... Alex... has always been hard to talk about."
She rubbed her arms and moved her hands infront of the heater, then winced a bit from the heat, "I see what he meant..."
Her mind drug up her brother's statement, the pain letting him know he was still with the living.

Kaito glanced at Aliya, not wanting to talk about it very much either and finally putting the car into drive. He drove in silence, not sure what to say or do, towards Ali's house, pulling up outside the apartment building.

"... Thank you, Kaito. For everything," she muttered when they'd pulled up at the building. Her mind had been flying the entire time, "... I had fun."
She leaned over and kissed Kaito's cheek and offered a smile that didn't touch her eyes.
"... Come up with me. You said you would," she reminded. Aliya didn't want to be alone, not now. Not again.

"Ali, are you sure?" Kaito asked, totally unsure about all this. She knew about his relationship with her brother now, why wasn't she pushing him away? The vampire was so confused.

She gave a half hearted smile and went into the building. The elevator wasn't crowded, as always, and she was soon on her floor.
She unlocked the door and stared at the mess. Food and dishes were everywhere, her clothes strewn about. And in the middle of it were two children, with long an lanky limbs and bodies. The shock that ran through her wasn't thier snow-white hair. It was the cat ears and tail each sported.
The pair turned, a boy and girl, when they saw her and smiled, "'Liya~!"

Kaito parked the car in the spot that matched Aliya's apartment number. He leaned forward and put his head against the steering wheel. When had everything gotten so screwy?
The vampire climbed out of the car and walked over to the elevator, getting in and riding it up to Aliya's floor. He paused outside her door, behind the girl and looked over her shoulders to see the two kids in the middle of her ripped apart apartment. The ears and tails were dead giveaways and the vampire groaned.
"Not tonight..."

Aliya stood there quietly, blinking as the two kids got up. The pair held hands looking at them.
Aliya stood there a moment, then walked in. She smacked the two over the head and they cried out, holding thier heads, "What are you doing? You made a mess!"

"Ah, Aliya!" Kaito said, coming forward and scooping the kids up away from her. "What're you doing? They're little?"
Then the vampire paused, the girl hadn't even seemed surprised that there were children in her apartment.
"Do you know them?" he asked, turning around with one kid in each arm.

"No, I don't," she said, crossing her arms over her chest, "But this mess!"
Aliya looked at the kids and sighed. Their ears were laid back, tails between thier legs.
"Who're you?" she sighed.
"Di," the boy mumbled.
"Ana," the girl sniffled. Aliya blinked.
"Di.. Ana? Diana?!"

Kaito sighed as the girl started to freak out, gently bouncing the kids up and down in his arms. They were adorable and even though it might be Ali's first time to knowingly come into contact with Immortals she was being a little mean. It worried the vampire for when she found out about him.
"You shouldn't scare her like that," he scolded gently. "She's a human, darlings, and she doesn't exactly know what's going on. Ali, calm down."
He looked at the little kitty cat twin in his arm, the girl, trying to calm her down as well.
"I have a puppy called Ana, would you like to meet her?"

Aliya's byd flopped down on the couch and she groaned. She pressedthe heels of her hands to her head.
".... what are they..." she muttered, looking up, "kaito?"
This was too much for her. he eyes wandered around her apartmnet. it was a wreck. Diana.... Di and Ana hadn't been so dessructive before. What had upset them?
"Di, Ana," she asked softly, "Did something upset you? Why's it so messy?"
(Feel free to play the twins lol Oneor both I couldn't decide if i wanted Diana to be a boy or girl, so I settled for twins xD)

((I'll play with them a little, but they're your charries and I kinda feel wrong doing that just cause... haha, so I'll probably leave most of their stuff up to you.))
Kaito looked down at the twins before sitting down on the couch next to Aliya with the twins on either one of his legs. The vampire put a hand on her shoulder as he searched for the words to explain what they were to the girl.
"You know how Eschaton said that we were made of darker stuff than you? In one sense of the word.... he was right," the vampire started. "We're not exactly....human, you could say."

Her eyes looked up at Kaito or a moment, then away, "... You aren't human either, are you...?"
She thought about it a moment, then blinked, "... My brother. he wasn't either, was he?"

"No I'm not," Kaito said, staring into Ali's eyes and trying to show her how important this point was. He would never be human and he could put the mask on for small periods of time, but it would inevitably slip.
When he heard the question about her brother, he rocked back a little, setting Ana down next to the girl and cuddling Di to his chest. He sighed before looking back at Liya and shaking his head slowly.
"No, he wasn't..."

Aftera few moments, Aliya leaned agaisnt Kaito, resting her head on his shoulder.
"Will you help me clean? These two," she tickled Ana, who squealed and squirmed, "Made a big mess."
She gave kaito a soft smile, then kissed his cheek, "... I won't ask how you know my brother, or how you felt about him. It isn't my lace to pry. You'll tell me when you're ready."

Kaito looked at Aliya, slightly surprised at her response before nodding a little. His eyes still held the ghosts of his memories though and it would take a little while before he could push those memories back into the box from where they'd sprung.
"Why don't you go call your work?" he said after a moment, managing to quiet the memories for a moment. The vampire knew he would have to leave today though, he needed time to reconcile the conflicting emotions within. "I'll start cleaning."

Allieya nodded and set Ana down, then went to find a phone. She stepped out in the hall a minute and stood there a minute then started dialing.
Her boss answered, and she let him know that she wouldn't be coming in, and that she wasn't feeling well.

Kaito glanced at Ana and Di for a moment and then quickly herded them on to a chair that had somehow escaped the ripping frenzy.
"Sit still," the vampire warned the tiny shifters before turning his back on them and looking back at the tiny apartment.
Kai closed his eyes, reaching down into himself to find the wellspring of power that had unlocked itself to his senses when he Turned. The vampire grabbed some of it and pulled it out through his limbs, directing it with his hands and will. The magic raced through the room, whirling everything back to how it had been originally until the room was clean. The room clean, Kaito collapsed back onto the couch as the two shifters raced over to him and curled up around him on the couch.

After the call was done, Aliya sighed, then returned.
"... You're done?" she asked, "That was fast... Thank you."
She returned the phone to its hanger, then moved to curl up on the couch, closing her eyes.
