Meltdown

Kaito looked down at her a little surprised, but then smiled softly.

"Of course," he murmured softly. "Anything. But.... I just... it feels weird telling you this. Your brother did not want you to know. I could erase your memory," the vampire offered.

Jayden finally finished checking Jayce over, leaning over to kiss his brother and making Fiore, the Great Dane, grunt at them and knock Jayden on the back of the head as he lumbered past. Ana had shifted back and was sulking by the door to the living room; she was about seven or so and was very upset that her Kaito was talking to that girl. And that girl had cats.

The golden retriever glanced over at the twins, not particularly curious, but more weirded out to see cat shifters.

The girl exhaled, "...There were probably alot of things he didn't want me to know that I know now...."

She sat back, rubbing her face, "...What do you think I should do, Kaito?"

The twins watched Ana, curiously. Di then sighed and started combing through his sister's hair, making her purr softly.

Kaito looked at Aliya quietly and shook his head a little. He relaxed back into the couch as he watched the succubus demon.

"I can't tell you what I think you should do. It would muddle your own thinking and you deserve to have that to yourself. I can, however, lay out the facts to you as I see them if you think that would help."

Ana watched the cats, thinking they were weird before glancing back up at Fiore who was passing by with a tray that smelled like baked goodies and tea. The big man knelt down to pass a mug of cocoa to the little girl, giving her a small small and a biscuit before handing two more mugs to Jayce and Jayden who had settled down on the love seat next to the stove together. They thanked the older man and curled up with each other, talking quietly and glancing at the cat twins every now and again. The Great Dane also stopped by the twins and put down two mugs next to them before going to tap lightly on the door to the living room with his big hands.

Aliya sighes softly, combing her fingers trhough her hair, "... Part of mewants to know, but another..."

She shook her head, closing her eyes.

The twins looked at the mug curiously before sniffing it. Ana picked it up first, hesitantly taking a sip, then smiled, nodding to her brotehr, who did the same. The little girl pushed herself up and went to Fiore, tugging on his hand and smiling.

"Thank you~" she said before hurrying back to her brother.

Fiore looked down at the little girl and smiled a little before opening the door into the living room when he heard Kaito call his name.

"You're going to have to reconcile those parts of you into one decision. I can't help you there," Kaito said, perking up when he heard the tap on the door. "Fiore?"

The door opened and the big man lumbered in with the coffee mugs and some biscuits, placing the tray on the table. Kaito grinned at the man, saying, "Thanks." Then he patted him on the back as he passed before going back into the kitchen and closing the door.

After a while of watching the kittens, Ana wandered over to Jayce and Jayden, curling up on the couch with the twins who were content to have the puppy flop down next to them as long as she didn't get yappy.

Aliya slowly nodded, moving to sit next to Kaito, running her hands over her face.

"... Do youthink... can you tellme about my brother?" she asked softly, "I-I understand if you don't want to...."

The twins sat in the corner a bit long, sipping on their hot drinks and grooming each other, every now and then glancing over at the dogs.

Kaito looked at Aliya for a moment before picking up his mug. It was a specially blended mixture of blood and chocolate which he could manage to keep down and actually digest and Fiore knew it was one of his favorites. As he reminisced over Ali's brother he felt that Alex wanted him to say something, anything.

"A little..." he said after a moment. "It's still...difficult to talk about Alex. He was....my lover. I love- loved him more than anything. I met him a few years back after he had fallen in with the wrong crowd."

Kaito paused to stare into the distance, remembering the fire spark of a boy that had made him feel for the first time in forever.

"I knew he was special from the moment I met him."

Fiore went to stand next to the hounds and Ana for a little while, chatting with Jayce as Jayden pet Ana, itching behind her floppy ears. Then the big Great Dane went over to where the cats were on the floor.

"Do you have any questions or want anything to eat?"

Aliya absently reached oer and took kaito's hand, running her thumb over the back of it.

"...When he made it home..." she muttered,her brow furrowing, "... When he would talk, he kept talking about someone he'd met, but would never give a name. Someone...he said that they--you I guess--kept him... sane."

She exhaled softly, grabbing her mug and taking a drink, "... When he would sleep with me, he'd have nightmares and was calling your name..."

She gave a small laugh and a smile, "... He never did want to be alone. My big brother, and I was the one protecting him..."

The twins looked up at him.

"...Its cold," Ana said softly.

"Can we have some blankets or something?" Di asked.

Kaito closed his eyes. Somehow hearing that Alex had called out for him when he was scared made it worse. He had wanted to be by Alex's side, but the boy had needed to go home. Even though he had watched his lover, trying to make sure that he had adjusted, Alex hadn't; when Kaito heard that he had killed himself, it nearly ripped him to pieces.

Some terrible things happened to him.... it makes sense that he never wanted to be alone."

Fiore nodded, wandering away to go find some blankets for the kittens.

Slowly, she nodded again, "... After he... died.. Our parents were killed too. There was an accident, and it was raining... they went out for a drive...

"... I was shipped between relatives and every time, something happened to them. Kaito, I need to know what happened and what I am," she decided.

The cats curled up amoungsteachother,sighing softly. Ana kept watching the dogs though and soon got up to look at them, despite her brother's yowling protests.

"I'm Ana," she smiled at them, "And thats Di."

Kaito looked at Aliya for a moment before nodding slowly. He put his chin in his hand, staring off into the distance contemplatively for a while before seeming to shake himself though his gaze stayed looking out the window.

"You and Alex are special," was how he started out. "You....you already know you're not human. Rather, you're demon to put it bluntly. You are a succubus. Your brother was an incubus."

Fiore looked down at the other Ana before glancing over at their Ana. The other little girl seemed put out that someone else had her name while Jayce and Jayden were looking at the kitty curiously.

"Why doesn't your brother come introduce himself?" Jayce asked.

Slowly, Aliya nodded, "... I-I see..."

She held one of Kaito's hands tight, looking down. "... Did he ever mention me...? Or any of us?"

Ana glanced back at her brother, then shrugged agologetically, "Di doesn't like dogs too much. He takes some getting used to."

Kaito looked over at Aliya and nodded slowly, glancing down at his hand which was trapped between hers.

"He mentioned you to me several times. He was always talking about you. He worried a lot and made me promise to take care of you," Kaito said, looking at the girl who had grown up so much from when he first seen her. "He brought me to see you once."

Ana the puppy looked at Ana the kitty before slipping off the couch and going to sit across from Di. The seven year old cocked her head to the side as she looked at hte other boy.

"How old are you?"

Aliya looked down ath their hands, then squeezed his hand tight.

"... Alex.... He" She muttered, "He liked you. I'm glad he found you, Kaito."

Di looked up at the girl, then down at his mug again.

"...Eight."

Kaito smiled sadly, happy to hear the words but knowing that they had no real meaning. He gently disengaged his hand from Aliya's and picked up this blood and chocolate mix, taking a sip of it as he looked out the window again.

"I don't know if he really liked me...." was all the vampire said with a mysterious smile before looking back at Aliya. "Drink your hot chocolate before it gets cold."

Ana, encouraged by the other child's answer, grinned at him happily.

"You're older then me, but only by a little," the girl informed him importantly, sitting cross legged in front of him and leaning forward to peer up into his face. "I'm Ana, like your sister, but you can call me Anastasia or Stasia or Sia! Whatever you like! Jayce and Jayden always change my name and laugh at me, though," her little face was clouded for a moment before it cleared up. "But Kai likes my name! What's your name? Where are you from?"

Aliya watched him, a sad smile on her face.

"If you heardthe way he talked about the good times he had, you'd believe me," she informed him, reaching for her mug.

"I'm Di. Aliya found me and took me home and I went and found Ana and brought her with me. She thought she had one cat, but the two of us would switch out when she wasn't home," Di told her, "We didn't have a name, but she called us Diana. so I took Di and my sister took Ana."

Kaito stopped smiling before looking over at Aliya. His gaze traced over the features on the girl's face, seeing the ones that were similar to his old lover.

"What was Alex like....before me?" he asked curiously.

Ana looked at Di curiously for a moment before grinning.

"Ya'll are smart!" the puppy exclaimed, smiling at the cat-boy. "Do you like living with aht lady?"

"Alex was... brave and would always stand up," she said, "No matter who was in trouble, he'd always speak for them..."

Aliya rolled the mug between her hands, "... He didn't back down either."

Di nodded, "It was warm and we were fed. She gave us laot of attention when she wasn't working."

"What was he like after?" Kaito asked, watching Ali's hands carefully as she rolled the mug around between her hands contemplatively. Kai sipped his own drink a little as he continued watching, wanting to hear more about Alex and also learning about Aliya as she talked.

Ana grinned at Di a little before reaching over to grab his hand.

"Will you and Ana be my friends?" she asked curiously. "Jayce, Jayden and Fiore say they're my friends, but they're too old to play with me."

Fiore smiled at the little cat girl, Jayce and Jayden as he lumbered over to the stove, starting up the evening meal for all of them.

"Well, I'm sure you and your brother will get along quite well with us, Ana," Jayce said as Jayden nodded.

"Quiet and withdrawn. He would often stare out a window, or I'd find him curled up on my bed, wrapped in the blankets," she said softly.

"... he hadn't been home long beforehestarted... cutting.... i think..." Her grip tightened on the mug, "... I never saw it, but he always looked so guilty..."

Di nodded and smiled, "All right."

He took her hand, purring as he smiled.

Ana nodded at the twins, "I hope so. But Miss Alieya.... I want to go where she goes. Even if she leaves."

Kaito leaned over and gently pried her hand off the mug handle, wrapping his own around hers and smiling down at her regretfully.

"I'm sorry," was all he said.

Ana grinned at Di, squeezing his hand tightly and looking up at Fiore happily as he came over to see them.

"Di's my friend!" she informed the Great Dane shifter.

Jayden looked at Jayce a little before glancing back down at the little girl.

"You do realize that.... if she walks away with no knowledge, like if Kai erases her memory, ya'll can't leave with her. She won't be able to take care of you."

"... I'm sorry too," Aliya muttered, "...I didn't want to bring any of this up, but...."

The young cat-boy nodded, smiling a bit.

Ana's nod, however, was slow in thought, "... Then she won't know I'm there. She took care of us. I want to repay the favor."

"It's important that we talk about it," Kaito replied quietly, touching the side of Aliya's face fondly before leaning over and kissing her forehead. Then the vampire stood up, "Let's go, I think we both need some time to process this and I would like to introduce you to some people."

"Good for you, Anastasia," the big man said, ruffling her short brown hair and the pointed dog ears that were nestled in it as he wrapped a blanket around her and handed one to Di.

"Stasia or Sia!" the little girl insisted, looking up at Fiore.

"I thought you were going by Ana," the Great Dane said, looking down at her curiously.

"Too confusing now!" the puppy insisted.

The twins nodded after a moment's thought.

"Reasonable." they agreed with each other.

Aliya slowly nodded and set down the mug and climbed to her feet.

"Introduce me?"

Di chuckled a bit and nestled himself into the offered blanket, purring at the warmth.

Ana nodded, looking proud of herself, "She's my momma now, even if she doesn't realize it. And if she doesn't remember, she's still my momma and I want to help."

Stasia turned to look at Di before glancing back at Fiore.

"Are you laughing at me?" she asked curiously before looking back up at the big shifter. "Is he laughing at me?! No one laughs at me, mister!" she teased before jumping on the other boy, trying to play-wrestle him to the ground.

Jayce and Jayden looked at each other and then up to the sky. Another case of puppy love, though in this case it was kitty love, Ana or Sia as she seemed to be insisting on being called at the moment also had it bad for Kai.

"Yes, introduce you," Kaito said, grinning as he walked over to the door to the kitchen, slowly swinging it open upon the chaotic scene of Di and Sia tussling on the floor as Ana conversed with the twins and Fiore cooked with the puppy and the kitten underfoot. "To my family."

The twins perked up and Fiore looked up, seemingly slightly frazzled, as Sia kept fighting under his feet.

Di grinned and pounced back on the puppy, twisting under her to slide out and grab her shoulders.

Ana turned as the door opened, smiling a bit as Alieya looked confused.

"... They're... They're the dogs, right?" She asked curisously as Ana padded over to nuzzle her. The girl rubbed the cat's ears,getting a purr in responce.

Stasia growled at this, yanking on Di's ear as it went by her face before flipping him off of her by whapping him in the head with her hand and then pouncing on him again.

Kaito smiled, nodding a little.

"Yes, but they're my family. This here is Fiore," the big man waved as he started to reach down to try and untangle Stasia from Di, "he's a Great Dane shifter. The two over on the couch," Jayce and Jayden waved before resuming their hushed conversation, "are the Pharaoh hounds, Jayce and Jayden. And," Kaito knelt down to the floor and whistled sharply. The puppy's ears pricked from where she was playing with Di. When she saw the vampire, her eyes lit up and she disengaged herself, while Fiore picked up Di, to race over into Kaito's waiting arms as he straightened and lifted her up off the ground, "is Anastasia or Sia as Alex liked to call her or Ana as I call her. Alex rescued her off the streets."

"Stasia or Sia!" the little girl interrupted imperiously.

Kaito looked at the puppy curiously before ruffling her ears, "I thought you liked the name Ana."

Stasia pointed at the cat girl, "Her name's Ana!"

Kaito laughed a little, bouncing Sia in his arms, "All right, Stasia then."

Aliya smiled, scratching at the dog girl's ears before lifting Ana from the ground.

"... Its so strange..." she said softly, nuzzling into Ana's hair, then smiled at Kaito, "...But I like it."

Kaito smiled softly as Sia struggled in his arms to be let down and he put the squirming puppy back on the floor, remembering the nights when Alex had first brought the bundle of sopping wet fur home and how he had taken care of her so carefully. Sia turned to smile at him before she ran up to Fiore, telling him to put Di down so she could finish wrestling him.

"You'll get used to it," the vampire said with a smile as he turned to look at her.

Aliya nodded,smiling a bit. Ana watched her face, then looked back at Kaito before slipping from the girl's arms. The cat sighed and padded away.

"... i don't think it'll be hard to get used to," the succubus smiled at Kaito.
