"Alright, my lady. If you would so kindly step into the car, then we will be on our way," the vampire said, walking over to the passenger side of the car and opening the door with a flourish for Aliya.

"Oh, it might be that I have finally mended my evil ways and realized that green hair and piercings really don't suit me," Kaito teased right back, leaning on the car door for a moment to look at Aliya before walking to his side and sliding in. "Or it could be your stunning looks."
The vampire slid the key into the stolen car's ignition and revved the engine, grinning in satisfaction at the purr and growl of it.

Aliya blushed a bit, "Stunning? I doubt taht."
She leaned back in her seat, closing her eyes a moment, "... How far is it to the zoo, Kaito?"

"Not far, not far," Kai answered absentmindedly as he shifted through the gears and roared out of the garage and onto the street. His eyes widened in excitement and he gloried in the speed that came from the car, though no where near as amazing as transporting himself. "In fact, we're almost there."
The vamp whipped the quicksilver car around a corner and pointed to his left as he drove.
"That's the back fence of the zoo and we'll be going in a couple of blocks up."

Aliya stared out the window and nodded, "Is the zoo really that big? I haven't been there in a while...."
She didn't think about the last time she had been here and shoved the memory away when it threatened to surface.

Kaito looked over at Aliya worriedly. He'd seen something flicker across her face, but he couldn't exactly say what it was.
"Yeah, it's a pretty big zoo, but...what's bothering you?"

She gave a weak smile, then turned to look out the window. She tugged at her hair, sighing softly, forcing her brother from her mind.

Kaito knew that she was lying to him, but as he parked the car he was unsure if he should pursue that particular line of questioning. He sat in the driver's seat for a moment before turning to look at Ali seriously.
"Are you going to continue lying to me?"

Aliya blinked at him, then looked away. She didn't say anything and got out of the car.
The girl stood outside awkwardly, combing her fingers through her hair. She was half temted to start walking home.

Great, she ran away, Kaito thought to himself before straightening himself out and climbing out of the car, shutting his door silently.
"C'mon," he said a moment later, standing in front of Aliya, hand held out, not touching her but allowing her the choice of whether to come with him. "Let's go, the zoo awaits!"

It took a few moments, but Aliya looked up and nodded. She offered a smile, but it didn't reach her eyes this time.

Kaito dropped his hand to his side before nodding, starting to lead the way. His smile was bitter as he turned his back on the girl. He didn't understand this mortal and it frustrated him.
Why was what he did always wrong?

Aliya followed after him, crossing her arms behind his back. She caught up to him quickly, but stared at the ground.
She started second guessing herself. Maybe... Maybe she wasn't ready for this...
"..." she opned her mouth to speak, to say something, but nothing came to mind and she closed it again.

Kaito got to the gate of the zoo, turning to glance back at Aliya and his gaze softened a little.
"It'll be all right, promise," he murmured softly before the roar of a motorcycle blasted over his words along with incessant giggling.
"Kai?"
"Jay?"

Aliya had just reached to grab Kaito's hand when the motorcycle was heard. Hearing Jay's voice, she ducked behing her friend, not wanting to be seen.
Unconsciously, she took Kaito's hand and squeezed it tightly, her body pressed to his back as she tried to appear as small as possible. She didn't like Jay. At all. Like Eschaton, there was something about him that put her on edge.

Kaito took his cues from Aliya and stepped in front of her, squeezing her hand back and blocking her with his body. His eyes focused on his friend and the slutty girl sitting behind him on his bike and he felt the urge to rip the other male apart surge through his mind.
"What are you doing here, Jay?" he asked.
His Texan friend just grinned as if he dealt with the angry Asian vamp every day, leaning forward on the handlebars as he did so, "Just bringing a lady friend on a little after hours visit."
"Not tonight."
"Oh, really because, the last time I checked, Kai-"
"Not tonight," the words were harshly spoken and, when Kaito looked up at Jay, his eyes were red. "Go home."
The other vampire changed his line of questioning, "Is that the piece of tail from the bar last night?"

Aliya closed her eyes tightly, staying behind Kaito. For a moment, she thought it was absurd to be afraid of Jay, then she heard his question. She squeezed Kaito's hand tight and ducked her head.
That was the same time she felt power surge through her and she looked up at Kaito, gave his hand another squeeze, then stepped out from behind him. If one looked closely enough, they could make out the wings and tail in her shadow. Unlike the previous times, however, the shadow now had horns.

"Ali," Kaito warned quietly, seeing all the signs of her change coming up on her and wanting to save her the heartache and devastation that this would surely lead to. "Please don't, darling."
"Ah, so it is the little whore from the bar yesterday. Wouldn't do me, but you sure chose Kai pretty fast after I left. You got some kinda Asian fetish girl?" Jay said as the girl behind him tittered, leaning into his back. It was obvious the other male had drunk from her already and she was slightly loopy at the moment.

Aliya shut her eyes tightly at Jay's comment, squeezing Kaito's hand tightly. When she opened her eyes again, they had changed, sliding to red as she unconciously brought up Illusions, a skill used in self-defense for a succubus, akin to what Bastet the Illusionist could do.
Aliya didn't realize what was happening, the human facade couldn't, but judging from the other girl's face, it wasn't pleasent.

"W-What the fuck is happening?" Jay asked, eyes blind to the world around him. "Kai, where'd you go, man? WHAT THE FUCK!??!"
His voice went high in desperation and Kaito had to stop himself from laughing in delight as his hunter's instincts rejoiced in the pain and torture happening before him. Instead, he focused on the girl in front of him.
'Ali, you need to stop, honey. Ali, please," Kai murmured, touching her shoulder with his free hand.

Bastet and Eschaton watched from the shadows and the illusionist watched her master's eyes glaze over in lust.
"I want her."

Tears welled in Aliya's eyes, but she didn't stop. She let the Illusion continue for a bit longer before closing her eyes.
Her body leaned against Kaito, tears falling down her face as the abnormalities to her shadow vanished. She looked like she'd passed out, but she soon wipped tears from her eyes, sniffling softly.

Kaito scooped Aliya up into his arms and buried his face into her hair, humming softly so that his chest rumbled with it and offering her comfort. He lovingly kissed the end of her nose and her forehead before burying his face back into her hair. The vampire turned his back on Jay and the slut, starting to walk into the zoo, escaping into the black night.
"WHAT THE FUCK WAS THAT!?!?" Jay screamed out, breath rasping and afraid. "THAT CHICK SHE AIN'T FUCKING NORMAL!"
The girl behind him on the cycle was sobbing softly into the back of his jacket, but the other male ignored her, even lightly cuffing her to shut up.
"Don't listen to them, Ali. Don't listen to him. He's wrong," Kaito murmured quietly as Jay continued to scream obscenities behind them.

Aliya nuzzled close into Kaito, still crying. She ran her hands over her face again, sniffling softly. Everything Jay said had hurt.
She grabbed his shirt tightly wgth one hand, still closing her eyes tightly. The power surge she had felt before was gone now, leaving her tired and dizzy.

Kaito sighed, pushing a little of his power into the girl to stabilize her a tad before finding a bench next to the giraffe enclosure that he could sit down on with Aliya in his lap. His hands instantly found her face as he wiped away her tears and he placed his forehead against hers, smelling the sweetness of her breath- her life.
"Ali, don't listen to Jay. You don't even like Jay, so why would you listen to him? Just listen to me, Aliya, you're an amazing young lady. You're unlike anyone I've ever met and I'm sure that your brother would be proud of you," Kaito murmured softly to her.

She sniffled softly and looked up at him, her eyes thier normal color. She watched him a moment, then gently kissed his lips.

"It's a natural gift. Now, look who's come to greet you."
The vampire turned over his shoulder to show Aliya that one of the giraffes had put its head through the wires and was now reaching out to waggle its long purple tongue at them.

He stood, gently placing Ali back onto her feet before going over to reach out to the giraffe and touch its velvety soft nose.
"Come see!"

Aliya watched him touch the animal curiously, then moved beside him.
"Something tells me we aren't allowed to do taht, KAito," she said softly, then asked the question taht had been bothering her all night, "How did we get in, anywya? isn't the zoo closed?"
