"We're allowed to do that because we're on an after-hours tour!" he explained happily, still touching the giraffe's nose and letting it pull back when it was done getting its nose scratched. "And, yeah, the zoo's closed, but no one has to know that we were here! I wanted to show you an experience that you can't have during the day!"
After all, I kinda own this zoo...but I can't really let you know that, can I?

Aliya gave a laugh, "All right. So make me experience something I won't forget."
She teased him, but it was showing that she felt better now. She was even smiling a bit as she tried to finish drying off her cheeks.

Kaito grinned, walking over and helping Aliya finish wiping off her tears before taking her hand and walking her through the zoo, stopping at certain enclosures to let her peek in or touch the animals, but always having a target in mind. Finally, they stopped at the beginning of a path marked with a drawing of a tiger.
"Now, don't freak out, all right?"

She squeezed his hand tight, looking up at him curiously. She was always made uncomfortable when told not to freak out.

Kaito pointed to the tiger sign after a moment, not wanting to see the expression that would cross her face when she figured out where he wanted to take her. He really really wanted to show her his tigers and what he had taught them- she didn't even have to come into the cage!

"... The tigers? Why would I freak uot about that?" she asked curiously, trying to look up at his face. She didn't understand that, but wasn't sure if he was going to explain why he told her not to worry.

"Um, well you see, I want to show you something special about the tigers, but to do that I kinda have to get in the cage," the vampire explained as he slowly drew Aliya down the path until she was standing in front of a giant glass window that looked out onto a moon-bathed enclosure that mimicked a jungle.

"... Get in the cage...? Are you crazy? What if they attack you? Or worse?" Aliya asked, squeezing his hand tight, "Thats dangerous!"

"They won't," Kaito reassured her as he saw one of the tigers walk out into the moonlight and put his hand on the glass. The big cat saw Kaito and stalked over gracefully, eyes riveted on the vampire. "They know me."

Aliya watched him, "... Are you insane..?"
She watched the cat, unsure. However, she trusted Kaito.

Kaito grinned, giving her a peck on the cheek before racing around the corner. When he did, he scrambled to the top of the faux rocks that bordered the enclosure and jumped into it, landing to square off with the tiger. He grinned at the big cat, flashing fang and the tiger growled at him.
Then Kai ran forward as if to attack it with the tiger racing forward, roaring at the same time, the two collided in midair and then the tiger was licking Kai's face as they began to playwrestle. Another two tigers appeared and trotted over quickly when they saw who had come to visit them.

Aliya watched in disbelief. This couldn't be real.
"... Kaito... How...?" She couldn't form words. Did she even have a question?
She stepped near the glass in awe.

The big cats surrounded the vampire and he rubbed their heads, scratching behind their ears, as they came up to push up against him. They complained sleepily to him and he just laughed, tackling one of them and starting a giant wrestling competition in the middle of the enclosure. Then his thoughts drifted back towards Aliya and he looked up to wave at her. Instantly, the three big cats were on alert and two went to go prowl towards the window and inspect the female behind the glass.

When the cats came near her, she crouched down, getting lower, unconciously submitting to the big cats as she tried to inspect them through the glass. They moved like Diana, she decided, there wasn't much difference.
".... Hey..." she murmured, wondering what thier fur felt like.

Kaito watched their interaction silently, but then he walked over to the glass, the other tiger following behind him. He waded through the mass of fur to get to the window and put a hand against the glass, as if he could touch Aliya.
"Would you like to come inside?"

They hadn't attacked Kaito, and it was a wonder to her. She was intrigued by the big cats and how they seemed to cooperate with him.

Kaito grinned, shaking his head as one of the tigers jumped up and started licking his face, making him laugh. His eyes had lit up at Ali's hesitant desire to come inside- even her brother hadn't gotten that far the first time he'd met him.
"They won't hurt you! I'll protect you!"

Hiding in the shadows, Eschaton laughed. His eyes were slitted with cruel pleasure as he watched them interact.
"Just like how you failed her brother? You are indeed a sadist, Kai, going for the matched set of brother and sister are you?"

Kaito gave a sweet smile, excitement rising through his veins at the prospect of introducing Ali to his cats.
"Come, I'll show you!" he called, disappearing around the side of the glass and scrambling up to the top of the rocks, waiting for her.

Aliya watched, moving to where Kaito had vanished to. She looked at the glass, still hesitant. Tigers were dangerous animals. Wild and unpredictible.
She felt a small stab though, remembering her brother, and shoved it aside. She didn't want to remember him now.

The tigers watched Aliya carefully. They made no threatening moves except that one of them yawned widely before they wandered around the glass to see where Kaito had gone. They remembered a boy who had once smelled like this human girl.
"Ali, where are you?" Kai called.

Aliya smiled and grabbed his hand, pulling herself towards him and scaling the rocks.When she got to the top, she exhaled,looking down the other side.

Kaito glanced at her and then nodded before jumping lightly off the rocks, landing on the ground and rolling forward into a surprise attack launched by the tigers. He laughingly pushed them off, mock-growling at them as he did so. The big cats pushed up against him, purring, as he stood under the rocks, grinning up at Aliya.
"Oh Rapunzel, Rapunzel, let down your long hair!" he teased, raising up his hands to her. "Jump down! I promise to catch you!"

Aliya laughed, albiet it nervously, at Kaito's joke. She looked down at him and the tigers and hesitated. Would he really catch her?
She launched her body from the rocks, much in the same way her brother jumped off the school.

Kaito reached up and caught Ali's lithe body, pulling her down until she was tucked in tight against his body. His smile lit up his face as he brushed a stray piece of hair out of her face.
"Now that wasn't so hard was it?"
One of the tigers came and pushed up against them and the vampire glanced down at it, grinning.
"Kieshra," he warned, reaching out to pat the female's head. "Be polite, missy."

She reached up and kissed his cheek, then looked at the tiger. Suddenly, she forgot her fear. Was she even afraid before?
"They have names?"

"Yes," Kaito said, slowly backing away from Aliya and disconnecting her from him so that the tigers could catch her scent without him around. "I would feel wrong naming wild animals normally, but they told me their names and that's what I call them."

Aliya reached up, pressing her hand to her forhead, "They can't talk. How could they tell you thier names?"
