Hey everyone,
I don't know if you heard in the news or through the grapevine; but in any case, my cousin Tanner was hit by a train last Friday when he was walking along a train bridge. He then fell and landed on an embankment below. Miraculously, he survived and is now in the pediatric ICU. He may have done something stupid, but I'm sure we have all done something this stupid. It was the wrong place at the wrong time. I have been traveling up there to visit him and my family nearly every day this week. To top it off, my father's best friend died the Saturday and as you can probably tell, it's been a terrible weekend and an equally terrible week.
I have learned many things however; I have learned to be strong and that even strangers can help lift your spirits and help you believe in the impossible, I have learned that your family is your family and you protect them no matter the cost, and I have learned that though you have very little hope you still cling to the impossible dream with all of your might until the end.
I can't imagine what is happening inside my cousin's head at this moment, whether he's dreaming or able to comprehend what has happened. I do not know if he can hear us, or can feel our energies as we enter the room and hold his hand. All I know is that I still love him, no matter what he has done in his life, no matter how snarky he has been and I will forever love him no matter what may occur in the days, weeks, months, years to come. I will always love him, he has been like a little brother to me my whole life, and I will forever hold him as thus.
Thanks for listening
