wasn't sure where else to post this, lol.
anyway, just wondering if anyone has ever read the satanic bible or satanic rituals (something like that) by anton lavey (think that's his name). was watching someone on youtube and those books were mentioned, and then i saw them when i was in barnes & noble today with my mom and little brother. i got to read a bit of the bible but my brother wasn't really comfortable with my reading it and my mom was giving me weird looks about it, so i decided not to buy them - planning on getting them later, if they're still there. was just wondering if any of you have ever heard about them or read them, and your thoughts and opinions on them.
before anyone even tires making assumptions or anything, no i'm not a baby eating satanist, lmfao. i'm a christian and have been for my whole life, though i do enjoy looking into and studying other religions.

I have the Satanic Bible and I've been slowly making my way through it for the last couple of years. Though its a relatively small book I find it very boring, not exactly a page turner so far. I agree with alot of what it says though. Its not all "WORSHIP THE DEVIL *evil laugh* AND SLAUGHTER THE INNOCENT." From what I've read its about bettering yourself first, and putting yourself first. Yes, it emphasizes the idea that there is no God, and the amount of exclamation points is an abomination, but overall I think its a good book to help you put your life into perspective, and realize that you are the most powerful person you know.

Being a Christian, I have always believed that there is a God, but I also believe that there is a Devil. I got to flip through the pages a bit and read a few things, and from what I saw, it was interesting.

ha! i've been saying for quite a while that i'm my best bet at getting anything done, and that i am the most reliable to myself guy i know and in the end i am the only one i can totally depend on. people think it sounds lonely and crazy! so i find it fascinating that the Satanic Bible runs on similar ideas.
my understanding of Christianity was that "God" helps those who helps themselves. so despite the books title it sounds like even Christians can take a message or more from it if it promotes self-sufficiency

Christianity is... strange. There's so many hypocrites and people who are just completely horrible. I've met "Christians" that make my skin crawl and make me feel physically sick to be around them. It makes me feel like I shouldn't even call myself a Christian. I've met so many of people from other religions, one girl who even called herself a Satanist, and they were some of the nicest people I've ever met.
