I was very pleasantly surprised by this series. I hadn't heard of it and pretty much just stumbled on it while I was desperate for something to watch. I had no expectations but it blew me away.
Here's a trailer if anyone's interested

Does it continue past one series? I wanted to get into the series but it seemed, I don't know, just like another jump on the zombie bandwagon. Is that the case or is it more original?

Currently there's two series out with a strong possibility for a third. (crossing my fingers on that) The direction this show takes felt extremely refreshing for me, yes, there's zombies- but it's not really a "zombie show" per say. The situations the rehabilitated undead find themselves in, society's reactions and hostility- parallel very real issues. The characters all have their own internal struggles which are very well explored. I've enjoyed the writing so far, and I love the cast! For a show featuring the undead "In the Flesh" is very fresh.
Just my two cents, it isn't for everyone- but I loved it.
